I’ve been fighting the urge to write this particular blog because I didn’t want this to be a typical “My Year on Facebook” sort of post. But now that 2016 has officially started, I feel the need to look back on 2015 and be grateful. The year flew by way too quickly so please allow me to reflect on it for a bit.
Ever since I finished school, each year keeps getting better and better. (So if you’re still stuck in school, keep your head up and push through it!) However I know that I am in my early stages of adulthood and that my life will eventually settle down, so I must be grateful for the exciting things happening in my life right now.
I don’t want to bore you with the details but 2015 was quite eventful. At work, I learned the importance of resilience and emotional intelligence (which are skills I want to master) and we finally launched a major product and successfully started selling it even in today’s low oil price. Among my friends, 4 couples I am close with got engaged! I travelled to Saint Martin, Las Vegas, Kelowna and the Philippines. And in my personal life I started my blog / vlog and ended the year with a beautiful wedding (part 1) in the Philippines.
Along with the Good I must also recognize the Bad like the doom and gloom of the oil market, our condo getting flooded (which still hasn’t been repaired), stress and anxiety attacks, not hitting the gym at all (still working on that lol), Jett’s motorcycle accident, and so much more. But during the bad times you must try to remember that whatever doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. It’s hard to think so at the time but if you take a good look at the dark clouds of your past and reflect and analyze how and why things happened, you’ll understand the situation, see how much you’ve grown and know how to avoid it in the future.
In a nutshell I am grateful for the amazing year 2015 has been and I look forward to an even better 2016. I am a bit sad that the year flew by so quickly, but it’s a good reminder to myself to stop and smell the roses more often.
Wishing you and your loved ones a happy and exciting 2016 🙂
