My Scorpio Sister, Lyndee, and I recently celebrated our birthdays together and it was a blast! We wanted to set it up all nicely so that I could take photos of the party for my blog. Some things didn’t go according to plan, but it didn’t matter as we had the time of our lives. So here are my lessons-learned so that you can throw yourself a blog-worthy party. Let’s face it, fellow Canadians: we’re in a recession. And in full-fledged wedding season. So when money is tight due to lack of jobs or excess of wedding expenses, there is absolutely no reason to spend hundreds of dollar$ on bottle service in da club.
Sometimes life gives you lemons that are so bad, you just can’t make lemonade. Don’t panic! Everyone gets lemons in varying degrees. Try not to be a party pooper, deal with it and live your life! Of course you can rant about it with your close friends and family, but don’t dwell on it for too long — vent and move on. Life is not perfect and that’s what makes it interesting. Continue reading →

I love Calgary. But the fact that we are one of the “worst places to be a woman in Canada” irks me. We are a highly diverse, multicultural city with so much to do and so much to experience and I want people to see that. It’s time for change. It’s time to show people that Calgary is inclusive and diverse.
